As many of you would know the release of Joomla! 3.0 is just around the corner and with it the introduction of the much talked about Bootstrap interface library, bringing with it great improvements to the Joomla! user experience. Previously with Joomla!, extension interfaces (templates included) tended to be a bit of mixed bag varying greatly from one extension to the next depending on the developers involved. This left users having to relearn the interface with each new extension added to Joomla! and developers having to allow for different interfaces with each extension.
Developed by Twitter (http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/), Bootstrap is a library of user interface elements that will standardise the user interfaces of your Joomla! extensions. Not only is this great for extension and template developers who no longer have to develop their own interface elements but also for users who will get to enjoy a standard easy to use and graphically pleasing interface across all Joomla! extensions.
So how will this effect templates available from Joomla51? Already we have begun development on our templates and introducing Bootstrap to the template interface taking full advantage of the benefits offered in Joomla! 3.0. On the build up to its release, we hope to update our most recent template releases currently available for Joomla! 2.5 with the Bootstrap interface library and making them compatible with Joomla! 3.0. Previous customers worried about missing out on these updates have no fear as Joomla! 3.0 compatible templates will be made available on request as soon as they are released with no extra fee for the Joomla! 3.0 compatible version of your purchase.
